Dear Parishioners and Friends,

For many years, our bimonthly newsletter Saints Alive! has published the list of Scripture readings for the Sunday worship services with the hope that you might read the lessons each week before coming to church. Perhaps some of you have consulted this list of lessons and faithfully searched your Bible and found the relevant passages. For many of you, however, we suspect that it was difficult for you to find the time to thumb through your Bible looking for passages in four different sections of the Holy Book.

We would like to make the process of locating the lessons more "user friendly" by sending this e-news letter, which has a link that brings you to all of the readings. We also thought you might appreciate receiving a short explanation of the Gospel in story form the Collect of the Day, and a few words about the music that will be a part of our worship.

Today we launch the first edition of All Saints Weekly as a spiritual resource and preparation for Sunday worship. You may wish to print out the Scripture readings and the rest of this newsletter and refer to them during the week. We hope you will appreciate this new weekly spiritual resource for your daily life and your preparation for Sunday worship.

Sincerely,

Rector

David A. Killian

Special Notice

Immediately following the 10:30 am service on Sunday, October 22, all are invited to a luncheon in the Dining Room with Rabbi Moshe Waldoks to discuss his sermon on the theme of "Sabbath: Sacred Time." Rabbi Waldoks of Temple Beth Zion in Brookline is the author of the Big Book of Jewish Humor. He is an outstanding preacher, teacher, and leader and we are thrilled that he will be with us for the 10:30 am service and the luncheon that will follow.
