A miracle at a party One day, Jesus and his mother Mary were invited to a wedding. They decided to go and to take all of Jesus' disciples with them. The disciples were a small group of friends who believed that Jesus was the Messiah, the Chosen One of God. They had decided to travel with him and to help him share the good news of God's love for everyone. The wedding was a happy event! The married couple loved each other very much and their family and friends were really glad to be with them as they began their life together. The party after the wedding was so much fun that it lasted for a whole week! Everyone celebrated with lots of good food and drink and singing and dancing. Only one thing went wrong: the guests drank up all the wine before the party was over! Mary noticed this and knew that Jesus could help, so she told one of the servants, "Do whatever Jesus tells you." Jesus saw that there were six large jars at the home where the party was taking place. "Fill the jars with fresh water," he told some servants. They did what they were told - they filled all six jars right up to the brim. Then Jesus said to them, "Now take some out, and bring it to our host." So they did. The host took a drink and began to laugh with joy! The servants had given him delicious wine to drink - the best he had ever had! He shouted to the wedding couple, "Usually at parties like this, people serve the good wine first, and then the wine that's not so good. But you - you have kept the good wine until now. Wow!" The host had no idea that Jesus was responsible for the delicious wine, but his disciples knew it. This was the first of many miracles that they would see Jesus do. And his disciples began to believe - not just in Jesus' power to change water into wine. They believed he could also change them. Questions to ponder: I wonder if you have ever been to a party. I wonder what you liked best about being there.
